By accessing or using BioContext7 (the “Service”), operated by Hordago Labs (“we”, “us”, or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
These terms apply to all users, including individual researchers, teams, and organizations accessing BioContext7 through the website, API, MCP server, or CLI tools.
2. Description of Service
BioContext7 is a bioinformatics documentation platform that aggregates tool metadata from authoritative registries (bio.tools, PyPI, Bioconda, Bioconductor, Dockstore) and delivers it to AI coding assistants via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The Service includes:
- Search and discovery of bioinformatics tools
- Tool documentation delivery via API and MCP
- FAIR scoring and quality metrics
- Pipeline generation stubs
- Usage analytics
3. Accounts and Registration
Some features require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or our Acceptable Use Policy.
4. API Usage and Fair Use
BioContext7 is free for all users. API usage is subject to reasonable fair-use limits to ensure quality of service for the community.

Abusive usage patterns may result in HTTP 429 responses. Sustained abuse may lead to temporary or permanent suspension.
5. Intellectual Property
BioContext7 aggregates publicly available metadata from third-party registries. We do not claim ownership of the underlying tool documentation. The BioContext7 platform, scoring algorithms, and interface design are the intellectual property of Hordago Labs.
The open-source components of BioContext7 are licensed under the terms specified in the relevant repository LICENSE files.
6. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that tool documentation will be complete or accurate.
BioContext7 is not a substitute for professional scientific judgment. Users are responsible for verifying tool parameters and configurations before use in production pipelines, clinical workflows, or regulatory submissions.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HORDAGO LABS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF REVENUE, OR DAMAGE TO COMPUTATIONAL PIPELINES.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Service at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
